Copper Trace Recommendation Report
This project was done for the W231 professional writing course. Along with a team of other IUPUI students, I led the production of a recommendation report for a community client based on 150+ hours of research.
The Copper Trace recommendation report looks at industry-level practices and cutting-edge research to determine how best to improve the retention of CNAs, RNs, and LPNs past the first 90 days for this local long-term care facility. This project suggests evidence-based options to support retention, including implementing a mentorship program, increasing employee engagement and recognition, and a team-based communication program to improve the overall work environment.

During the production of this report, I was able to grow my skills as a professional, researcher, and leader. The client that this project was completed, Copper Trace, was the client I contacted and recruited for the project. This allowed me to build my professionalism and communication skills as I sent emails and hosted zoom calls to bring Copper Trace on as a client.
With my role as a team lead, I was able to gain a strong understanding of leadership skills and teamwork. My duties as team lead included managing workloads, organizing team meetings and meetings with the client, and leading a presentation of the results of our report. With the leadership experience gained my ability to lead others has grown significantly.
As we completed this report over 150 hours of research were completed. I was able to gain experience in locating sources, analyzing them, and transforming them into useable and understandable ideas and innovations for our clients. These experiences directly resulted in a literature review, which was then used to help build our recommendation report by synthesizing the ideas described in our sources to produce context-specific recommendations as displayed in my team's report.
